I visited the Zenith Gallery today. There are two locations. I visited the Iris Street location... I believe I was compelled by the fates. The first thing that happened was a phone call from Margery Goldberg inquiring about two pieces of my art that were exhibited at the Pepco Edison Gallery, in Washington, DC. She liked my work. I had to meet her.
Then, a flyer about the current exhibit, was sent to my email, I am on the mailing list...Yeah. I decided that I should make a date with myself, and soon.
Finally, a colleague in my Art Group, sent an email expressing her excitement about an article in The Washington Post siting the Zenith Gallery and an extraordinary collage artist, Suzy Scarborough and shared Ms. Scarborough's Artist Statement. I was drawn in by her powerful words and visions she created with her collage images.
The Gallery is the beautiful home of Ms. Goldberg. She gave me a personal guided tour, from her eclectic front yard, three floors of rooms filled with the most beautiful and varied styles of art and sculpture I have ever seen, then out into her lush and lavish back yard. We had tea and I learned much about her and her work and I learned some things about myself as well.
The next artist featured will be one whose work I have seen exhibited and I look forward to seeing more by Mr. Hubert Jackson. I cannot wait to return to the Gallery.
